WELL....was it a tiring day or what? I have just completed 2 long days of photography session where I was the main coordinator and person-in-charge. Dunno why leh, although I did not have to perform the most important functions during the shoots (which of course, were the jobs of the photographer and make-up artist), I still felt like all my energy had been sapped dry after the end of both days. Basically, I had arranged for 17 persons from my company, to come down for the individual photography session and during these 2 days, my main job was to make sure no one forgets to attend the event, that they turn up in the correct attire, and of course, to entertain and make them happy while they were going through the makeup and photography. Tiring right!!!

These 17 persons are, to briefly summarise, people who belong to the following 3 main categories:
1) Big shots in my company
2) Middle shots who would no doubt, soon become big shots in the future
3) Small shots who are currently being groomed to become middle shots

Hence suffice to say, all of them are the elites of my organisation lah and ALL are men. Yes. So in this 短短的两天, I had the opportunity to get 'up close and personal' with this batch of gentlemen, some of whom I've never even met before. It was a pretty intriguing experience cos I got to see the one side of them which I'm sure most of my colleagues would not have known existed before. Hence, I decided to put together a list of interesting trivia about these elites, or rather men in general, which were pointed out and discussed between us (the photographer, make-up artist, 2 bosses of the photographer's company, and of course myself - ALL LADIES) during our kaypoh-ing and bitching session. Here goes:

Trivia #1
Men will always think makeup is only for women and that its pretty useless on them. They will squirm and look uncomfortable during the makeup session, but after that, will grudgingly admit that they do indeed look miles better than before. The very common first words which come out of their mouths when they see their made up faces in the mirror will always invariably be... "WAH LAU!!!" But hor, after scrutinising their faces for a few minutes, they will start to give comments about how their hair is styled and if their face colour look ok. So after getting their face makeup for the past 20 minutes, they've suddenly turned into critics and experts liao.

Trivia #2
This is actually a well known fact lah, but I still cannot resist saying it. WOMEN ARE NOT THE ONLY VAIN POTS AROUND OK. Men also hor. I have a few of the elites requesting that I send them soft-copies of their madeup faces after the project ends, and some also ask me to help take pictures of them on their mobiles, so that they can show it to their wives and girlfriends. I even had one small-shot specially bringing his own personal camera and asking the professional photographer to help take additional pictures of him using the same backdrop.

Trivia#3
Some of my elites are actually film star look-alikes! Its amazing leh, cos I never saw them as that before, but all the other ladies in the team pointed out the same thing to me. I have lookalikes of Joe Ma (the pilot guy in the TVB serial 冲上云霄), one of the 2 males leads in the Korean show Autumn's Tale, and plus the winner of 校园Superstar. Wah...fascinating leh!

Trivia#4
Most of the elites usually look quite solemn and serious in their day to day working environment. However, they can actually go quite wacky during the photo shoot session. One of the big shots (he's like the biggest rising star at the moment in my organisation - he's the type which 没有人不认识他的) who used to be my boss back when I was in my first posting. Have always seen him as a very steady and wise elder. But during the makeup and photography session, wah lau, the casanova side of him came out so suddenly that I was totally knocked off by it! So charming with the ladies leh. Har Har! The makeup artist did not believe me when I told her that he's actually quite a stern man in front of his subordinates and colleagues.

And then there's this middle-shot who was such a natural in front of the camera, then he totally impressed the socks off the photographer once he stepped in to take his shots. Usually, most of the men would wait for the photographer's instructions on the poses and angle to face. This guy hor. The moment he came on, he immediately initiated a few poses for the photographer to select, and I must say some of them were quite good! Then when the photographer had to brainstorm on some other more unique poses, he immediately started posing a couple of totally crazy ones which made us all laugh till I had a stitch. So wacky leh! And because he was the tallest among all the elites (1.92m!!), he really was the most photogenic of the lot, and plus he was also quite tanned and bronze looking. I must say his session was the one I had enjoyed myself the most. Haha...so entertaining!

Trivia#5
Some of the men were so sweet and nice, that their actions can really make my heart melt one leh. I had an emergency this afternoon, where one of the small shots forgot to bring his gloves for the shoot. I nearly went crazy, cos these are white gloves which had small golden buttons at the side of each, and hence could not be bought from just any shops outside. The only way out would be to make a trip all the way to Beach Rd to get a new pair. But time was running out and we really could not afford to waste more time cos the next elite after this small shot was a BIG SHOT and how could we keep him waiting for his turn right?

The most viable option would be to ask around and see if there's anyone in my building who can lend us his pair. But I knew the rate of success for this option would be really low, cos they don't usually keep their gloves in the office. The first person I approached was JL, a middle-shot who had already attended his photo session this morning. He promised me to check with his other colleagues as well. After a short while, he smsed to say that none of his colleagues have it and he was sorry about it. But, in addition to checking with this friends, JL told me he had also asked another middle-shot MJ if he/or his colleagues happened to have the gloves in their office. Eh, I was very very touched by this leh, cos JL and MJ do not belong to the same department, but he still took the initiative to help me ask around. Wah sai!!! 加 100分 can!!! And know what? Minutes later, MJ called to say that he managed to get one pair from his colleagues!!! And he informed me at JUST the right moment, cos I had originally already sent my subordinate to drive home and get his pair of gloves. But just when he was about to enter the lift, MJ called. And he personally brought the gloves down to the room where we were having the photography session. SIGH...SO NICE RIGHT!!! When my colleagues heard about it...their eyes just glazed over and they declared they now have a new idol in our organisation. Actually hor, me too. =)

Trivia#6
Ok, last one here before you become bored from my rantings. This one is hilarious. I just realised all men are absolutely terrified of this simple gadget which most of us women cannot go without. Tadah..

You should see the shocked expressions on their faces when the makeup artist flashed this in front of them. Most of them just totally flipped and questioned with fear "Need this meh?" All of them claimed it looked painful and that it should only be used on females. Haha! MJ was the best! His reaction was the most violent cos he nearly jumped up when he saw and asked "WHAT'S THAT!!!". I had another middle-shot who tensed up so much when the curler was used on him that my makeup artist had to slowly try to get him to relax cos she said the eyelashes simply wouldn't curl when he got so stressed up. Its so funny lor. So ladies, you can use this on your boyfriend/husband whenever they make you angry or don't give in to your whims and fancies. Heh heh. =)
