First outing with colleagues

Glad to say that I'm slowly getting chummier with my colleagues at the new office. It was actually rather kind of them to invite me to their outings, cos they don't really know me that well yet. Yesterday we went karaoke-ing at Party World (Civics Centre) and wah lau, so expensive man! With the member discount, still had to pay $20 per person. But guess its the same for all KTVs, on Friday and Sat nights lah. Quite fun, getting to know this fun side of them. Some of the young guys quite shy one...must keep cajoling them before they agree to sing. And I always feel quite old in front of them, cos they all address me as Miss XXX (surname). First time leh...haha. Got 2 of them who are my age, so feels kind of weird hearing them call me that. But ok lah, my boss is actually only 3 years older than me, but I still address him Sir.

By the way, slight disgressing here. Yesterday we had dinner at Macs before going to the KTV and I tried the new black pepper chicken burger. Unless you have an extremely high threshold of spiciness, DON'T TRY IT!!! Its really very very 辣...the first few bites may seem ok, but trust me, when you get to the middle of the burger, YOUR TONGUE IS ON FIRE!!!! Had to force the whole burger down cos I was really hungry and didn't want to waste food (and money lah). But still must admit that the chicken is indeed quite tender. Just that its gotta be one of the most fiery burger I ever eaten!

And guess what? Winnie (my travelling partner in Japan) is finally back (for good!) from Beijing. Back in late 2005, she had resigned from work to go on a hiatus in China. That time, she informed us she will be taking up lodging with her friend who had been posted there because of work. It was only later that we found out the friend is a guy lar, so of course we all started guessing their relationship cos eh come on lah, 孤男寡女 staying in one apartment and in a foreign land somemore. But Winnie did not confirm our 'suspicions' lah. Today, I met up with her and wah lau! She informed she had gotten married liao! So 静悄悄 wor! That friend har.... So anyway, its seems like her hubby is now being posted back to Singapore, and they'll be holding their customary wedding in June. She will try to invite her Japanese friends too, so I was hoping I could see Masa, Mai-Chan and Yoko again!! This really came as such a big surprise! I'm sure if I break the news to my former colleagues, the whole office will be set abuzz cos with the aunties around, you can count on them to set all the tongues wagging. But still, its a 大喜事 and I'm really happy for her. Winnie is one of the nicest persons I know, and I've always wondered why she's single. She's really like the angel amongst us cos even when someone treats her badly, she will never speak bad of that person. And when people loses temper with her, or scolds her, she still manages to stay calm and composed, even when we all know its not her fault. You can say she is a person whom I'll always try to learn from. Wah lau, beside her hor, I sometimes feel I'm the devil leh. So its nice to know that she's finally found someone to settle down and start a family. =)

And then hor, a few hours later, one of my subordinates informed me his wife is pregnant again, with their 3rd child!! Wow, two pieces of good news in one day! What next man? That someone got promoted? Win lucky draw? 中马票? Keep the good news coming!
