Feel like a PIG!
Then today, my colleagues and I went to Sakae Sushi to take advantage of their '9 coloured plates for $9' promotion (Tomorrow last day for the offer guys...what you waiting for??). Because of their strict criteria (9 plates for EACH table, no splitting of bills, blah blah), the 6 of us divided ourselves into 3 pairs and sat on 3 separate tables, so that each pair could eat 9 plates (10th plate onwards were regular priced). If we had all sat on 1 table, we would only be able to enjoy 9 plates at $1 each. So in our arrangement, the 6 of us were able to get 27 plates at $1 each lah. Actually I thought all this was rather CRAP, cos they could have just allowed us to sit together, and then charge EVERY 9 plates that we eat at $1 each lor, cos it would have amounted to the same as what we had done this afternoon. Cos at the end, each pair of us occupied one 4-seater table, which meant the 6 of us took 3 big tables, WHICH I thought was a bit of waste lah, considering there was still this long queue outside the restaurant. SIGH!! But fortunately despite the crowd, our food still came rather fast and we were able to move off about 45 minutes later. On top of our 9 plates of sushi, my colleague (Ms Houston) and I took on another bowl of teriyaki chicken ramen (don't recommend it actually....not impressive at all). Wah lau eh.....the buttons on my blouse nearly came close to bursting after the meal. SO FULL LEH!!! But Ms Houston super good lor...she took most of the ramen, and still look quite ok after we left the place. Me, I think my face was like, giving the 'can-puke-anytime' look. Most uncomfortable.
Anyway, something rather interesting happened today. I made another batch of Strawberry Hearts for my mom (who wanted to give to them to her PRC 铁打师傅). As there were extras to go around, I took a couple to let my colleagues try. The 2 Muslim ladies in my office kindly rejected my offer (cos obviously my food's dat halal lah), so I had 2 extra left. I then decided to give them to my nice Sikh colleague Ms. Qigong (who had generously lent me her Punjabi suit for my choir performance in Brunei) who works on the level above me. Wah...it turned out that she absolutely loved the tarts, cos her daughter used to get them at a bakery at Bedok and they were priced at $1.90 for 2! Ms. Qigong says my standard's rather similar to the Bedok bakery one! Wah! She really made my day man! And hor, she even ordered 1 batch of the tarts from me, for her friend's gathering held in Oct!
I FEEL SO FLATTERED LEH!!!!

OK, I'm really jealous now. You clinced your first baking business so easily? Just joking...
So, jokes aside. Congrats! You must be over the moon!
When are you going to try the tiramisu? Don't wait too long.
And I WANT to learn how to make the strawberry hearts! Do you know when Valerie will be teaching to bake those again? I searched Hougang CC's schedule. Doesn't seem like she will be conducting classes for the next few months. :(
Hi Cadenze, I've already emailed Valerie to enquire if she's going to organise any of her Strawberry Hearts classes soon. Will reply you once she updates me on her schedule. =)
Yar yar, will definitely try your Tiramisu recipe soon....don't worry...will blog about it once I try baking it. Heh heh
