TODAY no more Mr. Brown
A day after MICA's letter (in response to Mr. Brown's most recent article on Singapore's rising expenses) was printed on TODAY, Mr. Brown's weekly column on the newspaper has been suspended as of TODAY.
I'm going to refrain from airing my views, lest my blog gets suspended as well (hur hur, like as if!). But I must say the 550 comments (at the end of the MICA article blog entry) contributed by Mr. Brown's blog readers speaks much already. Some of these comments were rather interesting and brought up a couple of issues which I would have otherwise not thought about. Though I've never been a close follower of Mr. Brown's column on the newspaper (although, I DO read his blog regularly), I still feel a bit sad lar, that he's not going to write articles again. His normally-humourous take on his everyday life (for eg. his reservist, family problems, etc) was something which never failed to lighten up my Fridays. I even have friends who comment that they love the way he puts forward his views, and that the Friday issue of TODAY was something which they always look forward to.
However, I must say that the article in question, which he wrote for TODAY last Fri, seemed to be laced with a rather abnormally high level of sarcasm (not something typical of Mr. Brown leh). Hmmm, but to suspend his column all altogether.....quite drastic lar.
Its a gloomy day today lar.

I agree totally. He puts real issues in a different light....he is like Jerry Seinfeld in Seinfeld (my fav series last time)
