I thought of this just after my most recent first-date-with-a-new-guy last Friday. A bit like 理所当然, but it took me this long to figure it out.

Hmm...how should I put it? I realise that, with each additional dating session I attend (be it introduced by my kind friends/relatives or SDU), I'm like beginning to know more and more about what type of guys I'm attracted to/looking for. And its interesting that I find myself frequently using the Elimination Method to achieve this understanding!

I started out blind dating last year, happily thinking that my dates do not have to fulfill any criteria one...that 什么都凭感觉吧! Sounds so 潇洒 right? And so unlike many other females who always have this checklist thingy for their future partners...like for eg.

• Must be good looking
• Cannot smoke
• Must have car
• Etc, etc

Now, after having experienced a couple of these blind dates, and being somewhat 'wiser' (haha) in this field, I've come to realise that I'm just like any other women with their demanding date checklists. And by using the Elimination Method, it means that whenever I strike off a certain guy, my checklist will grow longer and longer. Cos if I find that I don't like (must digress a bit here hor. DON'T LIKE is NOT = DISLIKE. Its just 没有火花) a certain guy because he does not possess XXX qualities, its only then that I 领悟 that I'm actually searching for a guy who possesses that XXX quality. Does this sounds complicated? I myself am feeling slightly overwhelmed by it still. =P

So now I can futher conclude that I can only better understand myself if I go for more of these blind dates. But this could also mean that my checklist may become a terribly horribly long long list!!! And guess what? I recently did this online 心理测验 which uses our chinese birth date to decipher our personalities and possible situations which are currently surrounding us. Nothing spectacular, you might say cos all of us would have encountered at least one of these through email spam.

But this one was eerily correct in a lot of its predictions, and the one statement which left the greatest impression in me was:

"You are too choosy in finding your life partner (actual words were 要求太高). Actually, there is already someone nearby who is attracted to you. Now all it takes is for you to express some kind of interest in this person, and then the relationship which you are looking for will come true"

Now, this is all very well if I know exactly who this 'nearby' person is. But I DON' KNOW LOR...so WHAT THE HELL use is this piece of advice to me? You might as well tell me how to identify this person lor.
