SDU updates

During our recent gatherings, Spy P asked why I've not been blogging my dating experiences just like before (with Mr.BP and the others). Well firstly, I've toned down quite a fair bit in this dating activity, cos tired lah, of STILL not meeting Mr. Right after so many tries. After a while, I've just lost some of the initial drive and enthusiasm to carry on with the blind dates. And another reason why I don't blog about them so much, is because silly me thought that blogging about my dates may somewhat jinx and cause them to be unsuccessful at the end. Yar, I was that naive....HAIZ!!

Anyway, I'm over all of that now and am also slowly getting back some of the much needed enthusiasm towards dating. My first date in 2006 was arranged by Bluesky, whom I must say, is such a good friend to always think of me whenever some great SINGLE guy comes along her way. Heh heh. I shan't talk much about the date, except that I don't think it will work out eventually, as there's too many differences (in status, age, and wealth) between the guy and me. But suffice to say that, if it (the matchmake) had even the slightest chance of being successful, then I'm really well on my way in becoming a SUPER, OUTRAGEOUS, FILTHY....RICH TAI TAI!! But I don't think so lar. 我的命应该没那么好啦!

Attended my first SDU event in 2006 with Batman earlier tonight. Quite disappointed actually, at the quality of guys who turned up, as most of them looked rather old leh. Think there were only 2 guys who were around my age, namely Batman and another one whom I shall call Mr. Dark. It actually turned out that Mr. Dark had also attended a speed dating event I went to last year, and he remembered my name (this is no easy feat, as I don't have a Christian name, and Mr. Dark is a Malay, so remembering Chinese names should have been not that easy to him)! During that particular event, Mr. Dark was actually one of the guys I had a good impression towards, cos he was quite easy to chat and joke with. But when he did not do any follow up after the event, I then decided he must have forgotten about me, and so I continued with my other SDU activities lar.

But....to find out that today, he actually still remembered my name and plus, even the stuffs I mentioned during the last SDU event, was really quite a pleasant surprise....hee hee hee. And this time, he asked me for my number (after the event) and also sent an sms while I was blogging this entry. Hmmm.....sounds quite ok leh? Anyway, I know I should not put too much hope on any ONE guy and instead, should go out and join more events to meet more people first lar. But altogether, I would say tonight turned out to be a surprisingly encouraging start to my dating 旅途 2006. I only hope things will start to get more promising in the near future....=)

Sounds like a good start on the romantic front for 2006. All the best in whatever activities that come along. :)

Yeah, I think Mr Dark is a very attractive guy. He can talk, joke, is tall and not bad-looking. Hell, he even has a car. What more can one ask for, man.

Anyway, just to tell u, I think someone could potentially wanna chase the guy also. That manager of cancer programmes. Too many telltale signs already and I think she's a goal-getter so if you think Mr Dark is not bad, don't be shy to initiate more contact or respond. :)

Oh you mean Ms Nursey huh....wow...you can actualli read tell tale signs huh? Wah...sounds like I have a competitor...HAH!

Then she may have an advantage over me, cos Mr Dark told me yesterday that Ms Nursey actually happened to reside next to his aunt! Double chances of meeting each other....

Oh, so he msged you when he got home? :) Hehehe. He didn't find out about the this co-incidence until later on the ride.

What are the tell-tale signs?

One: During our dinner, how much eye contact did she make with him? Think about it.

Two: The ride home, who took the front seat? The argument that she will the last to alight is rubbish because it always seemed likely (to me) that I was gonna be the last (and I was). In a case like this (and her personlaity type),I think she deliberately wanted to sit beside him.

Three: After you were dropped off and they discovered his aunt was her neighbour, she said something which almost raised a snigger from me. She said,"That means we should meet up." He said,"Yeah, I think so, such things happen for a reason" And she replied, "Oh,you believe in that too?" and then she was beaming all over.

WOW WOW WOW!!! No wonder I did not pick up most of the 'signs', cos it appears that at least 2 of them occured when I was not present leh.

From where you were seated, you can actualli see her BEAMING ar? =P

And shucks! I was the one who told her to sit in front one...*knocks head on table in disgust*...

hmmm...just out of curiosity...I wonder how old she actually is...

I was sitting behind the guy,she talk, she gotta turn toward him right? So well? Yes, I think can see from the side.

During dinner you also around what. Think that was the time when she got interested in him?

How old is she...estimate, she went out of Msia to Spore for her nursing in 1989 (or is it 1986?)after sch.Say youngest 15,oldest 19 or 20.17 years. So 32 to 37?

Aiya,I don't whether he got ask for Nursey's number of not but you don't ask for a gal's number for fun.No worries.

Just go out, try out and have fun lah. No commitments. But if later wanna go steady then might want to consider other issues lah. :)

Haiz... Wonder where are all the hamsen, rich and nice guys disappear to?? Hahaa.. hope you will meet someone real soon. =)

As a friend, I do advise that you seriously consider the cultural differences between Mr Dark and us. Think of the foodstuff that you need to give up. Food is only one area. There are many other things which we take for granted that are strictly a no-no in that culture. So, do think a lot more before your heart stirs.

Teddy: yar...this issue had definitely been thought about A LOT after I saw Mr.Dark again last Wed. I think I can stomach all the food thingy and stuffs...the only issue I have is the compulsory shift of religion and the fact that I have to fast once a year. It sounds quite scary!!!

Anyway, nothing may happen also lar. Mabbe he was just being friendly...

Li-er: Thanks for the encouragement! I shall continue to 加油, 加油, 再加油! =)

Teddy: In my earlier comments on considering other issues if going steady, those were the exact which you wrote in your latest comments. I can only say that you literally took the words right outta my mouth.

Luna: Yeah, I agree 101% with Teddy on what he said because I have seen pple dive into cross-cultural relationships without considering these issues and have suffered greatly for it. Confronting certain things are not as simple as just talking about it. Anyway, hey, 你其实应该不乏人想追啦. Right, Teddy? :)

Batman - Errr, I would have agreed with what you said if not for the fact that I can read the following world - 乏. Pls do enlighten me so that I can improve my Chinese. :)

乏 means lack. Hence, the whole thing reads: Actually you (Luna)shouldn't suffer from a lack of suitors. Righty? :)

By Blogger Batman, at 2/10/2006 10:44:00 PM

Yeah! I agree. I think Luna Esa should have no problems. The right guy will come along one of these days. :)

I am so touched you all have such confidence in me....heh heh...=)
