Thanks everyone for the kind concern over my home's water pipe problem. Luckily the plumber managed to get it fixed within 2 trips here. The first one he made yesterday, to survey the situation and discuss the price with my mum. My parents thought about it for a night before deciding to call him and take up his service today. Actually, I though the price was not that bad. Cos the problem behind the flooding was our main pipe (well hidden behind a row of kitchen tiles, which was why we couldn't find it yesterday) had broke and the plumber guy's suggestion was to cut off the water supply to this bad pipe, and fix another pipe to let the water go through (better than hacking open the tiles and replacing the broken pipe inside).

He quoted us $200. Pretty alright leh, I though. Aiyah, anything to stop the flooding lah...very tired of wringing the towels already...手都脱皮了. And we had to endure one night of washing all our dishes in the bathroom (cos the leaking will start once we use the tap at our kitchen sink)....made me feel like I was in the 60s, squatting down at some street to wash dishes by the common tap. Very funny one, its only when you lost something/cannot use something, that you begin to appreciate its usefulness and value.

And come to think of it, I count ourselves damn lucky that this pipe did not choose to leak during the CNY eve. I figure my mum would go crazy then, cos she would probaly be preparing our reunion dinner. And like what Snowystars said, the price quoted then would probably skyrocket too!!
