In good spirits

Yay man...I know this is mean....but for the very first time, I managed to psycho Ms Mazda (the colleague I used to dislike, but now am ok with) to psycho other people in the office to be our coming CNY celebration emcee this year! Whoopee!

Eh, my reasons are not without logic ok. Firstly, everytime I always kena emcee/usherer for such events one...think my Director also sick of seeing me liao. Secondly, MUST give the newbies a chance to show their faces and get themselves known to other people (esp the higher management) in our department mah. If not hor, chances of promotion is low leh....if our bosses do not even remember their faces.

Thirdly, I really abhor being the emcee in front of my colleagues. Don't ask me, I ALSO DUNNO WHY! It doesn't matter how big or small the event is, I just prefer to emcee in front of people whom I don't know/or are not familiar with. Of course this does not include wedding dinners lah...so friends out there, please note that I'm still available for the job hor. Don't 误会 ok. I'm referring to events in my company only.

But I'll still be helping out with the emcee script though....its the least I can do anyway.

And another piece of good news, my company is sponsoring all of us a trip to KL in Feb!! We'll be taking those super VIP coaches, which I assume to be extra comfy and roomy, and most of the meals will be free too! Whoo hoo hoo.....I heard shopping's there is not that bad leh....and I quite like the idea of travelling with my colleagues. The last time we did that, it was in year 2000 (such ages ago!) and I really had a great time then! My boss brought her daughter and niece AND nephew along, and somehow, I sort of became their 保姆 during the trip. But still fun lar! Sightseeing and shopping was only so-so (cos in Malacca only), but it was great spending time bonding with the aunties in my office. Haha.

Feb is truly a month to look forward to! No scary emcee job, and a (hopefully) fun trip too! =)

Company trips to KL is nothing... if you want to compare with a 3D4N cruise to Langkawi and Phuket from my ex-company 2-3 years back. And D&D for my current company is held in Phuket and that is considered lousy already...=Þ...Anyway, those super VIP coaches are just seats which are slightly more roomy. There are some tour agencie which organises trips to malaysia, complete with meals ON THE COACH, massage chairs and karaoke service! that would be really nice....

Eh Bluesky, considering where I come from, this is VERY GOOD LIAO ok! If it was better, I bet you guys would start to complain liao right? How can we compare to big MNCs like yours?

And yes Teddy, can call me anytime to discuss the script...just don't ask me to spring any surprise on your big day hor...no singing ok. heh heh

Emcee freaks me out. One few minutes on-stage is nothing... but many minutes of it. =0 Following the script makes you sound boring and trying to ramble on instincts is so intimidating, seems like you need a very fast processor up there to function without a glitch.

Heh heh...in my most humble opinion, the trick to become a good emcee...is to memorise your script well, and then recite your lines as if you are saying them for the very first time.

Damn tough....but extremely challenging!

And if you have co-emcee...that's a DOUBLE challenge!
