Stocktake 2005
While browsing other blogs the last couple of days, I realised everyone has been writing about their achievements-cum-any other interesting events for 2005. As people around me would know that I'm not one to lose out (and today being the last day of 2005), here's my summary on most, if not all, of the more happening things that occured to me during the year. Definitely not exhaustive though, cos I tend to be selective in remembering stuffs.
1) Finally saw snow (and subsequently got quite sick of it) in Hokkaido, where temperatures were a mere minus 9 degrees
2) Met the Emperor and Empress of Japan (even shook hands ok!) at the palace - this will probably be one of my proudest 'achievements' in my entire life
3) Experienced a mini earthquake, also in Japan (Yokohama)
4) Started teaching aerobics, and now currently 'upgraded' to 2 classes liao
5) Performed on a REAL piano for the first time, in front of a live crowd
6) Performed at the Esplanade for choir....Finally!!
7) Put up my online ad at the SDU Lovebytes website. And subsequently went on first dates with 7 guys. Met a few jerks in the process, and still ended up with no boyfriend after the entire saga. 失败失败...hai.
8) Started flute lessons....and met my cute cute teacher Andy
9) Emcee-ed for the first time at a wedding dinner (Bluesky's lah). More to come next year...=)
10) Changed my attitude towards a colleague whom I always had some 偏见 towards. And later realised what a idiot I was, to have ever felt that way. Now we are absolute chums and can talk almost about anything. She's also the first person I confide to on my dating woes, cos she's also going through the same process.
11) Lost a cousin to a virus attack on the brain. Though we were never close, its still tough to accept the death of someone who was so young and full of vitality.
12) Took on a new portfolio during work, and although things were pretty difficult during the initial stage, I'm now more comfortable with the added workload and hope this will improve my chances of getting promoted....heh heh....but I don't think so lah.
This is so far what I managed to dig out from my miserable recollections. Though its not anything near impressive, each and every one of these incidents have certainly allowed me to grow and learn to be wiser (hopefully lah).
And before I forget, I must remember to wish everyone out there a HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR!! May 2006 be a even better year for you and your loved ones!
And yes, do go out and celebrate the countdown tonight. Don't be like me hor, stay at home and practise on my dizi only. Hai....I should get some award for being this hardworking.
