Nice saturday out
Today I attended my 2 nephews' birthday celebration at their spanking new condo unit called 'Palm Haven'. Wah....really very very impressive leh, the place. Quite different from the usual condo/EC that I had seen. For one, this Palm Haven looks really quite exclusive and cosy. I saw many of the families staying on the ground floor had actually just left their front doors open, with no metal gates/grills! You definitely don't see this in HDB flats...and my cousin was also ok with letting her sons run around the entire condo unsupervised. It reminded me so much of my hostel days, when we were so comfortable with all our neighbours that our doors were left opened practically 24 hours everyday (of course except when we were sleeping lah). The entire setting of Palm Haven is built with a very distinct Balinese feel, so that when you step into the place, its like you're on a vacation/chalet (a very nice one). There are less than 50 units in this condo, so everyone practically knows everyone here. Like I said, very very hostel like.... =)
So my sis and I went there earlier in the afternoon to help out with the BBQ preparations and whatever my cousin need help in lah. Then when everything was more or less settled, and the kids were basically entertaining themselves without our assistance, we all settled down for some DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION TIME!!! Eh, I quite impressed with myself leh...so many years didn't play liao...still quite sut sut leh! Donkey years ago, when DDR was the rage, my sis and I used to be really good at it.....and plus, its such a great workout, packed with loads of fun! We used to practice a lot at my cousin's place (she has 2 mats!!), and then we would go hao lian at the arcades...hahaha......those were the days man! Now you go, sure no one will take notice liao, cos now got para para dance (tried it...not as fun). But today, we only dare to take the beginner level lah.....those steps which require both legs one, cannot make it...haha....but still very very addictive. So fun that later the kids also joined in.....wish I have it in my home...=)
