Yup, I got bitten by the 大长今 bug too...and this bug is a never-say-die one....even when I refused to continue watching the drama, it still manages to suck me back in with its hauntingly lovely theme song. The good thing about this drama, is that given its super long storyline, even if I stopped watching for a few episodes, its still quite easy to deduce what had happened earlier on...so I don't really miss much. Of course not forgetting how enthusiastic my mum is over the show, and how it seemed to affect her attitude towards cooking as well....haha!! That day she was asking me...'Eh, I look like 韩尚宫 or not har, when I'm cooking?'...Wah lau....

I especially liked the girl who acted as little长今....so chubby and loveable! The way she recites the gourmet theories so 头头是道-ly....and the male lead also quite good looking leh, he's more of the 越看越上眼type, even with his moustache (cos I usually don't like guys with so much facial hair one).

Anyway, I'm at the episode where all the other Ladies refused to work for Lady Han, and 长今, with her friend, has to do all the cooking on their own. I know that idiot Lady Choi will get to be the highest chef Lady at the end, and Lady Han will die one....so I intend to skip this part lah. So sad wan. But just now I cried buckets when the 郑尚宫 passed away....they showed how kind she was to 长今, way back to when the latter was a small girl and how she taught her all the principles of cooking and living too. You cannot imagine from her old, crinkly and stern face, that she actually possesses a smiley side of her, one which was seldom displayed the minute she took on the role of Highest Lady Chef. A very fair and just woman, and definitely a rarity in the palace kitchen. I dread to see how the bad people will 整 our female lead and her teacher after 郑尚宫 is no longer there.
