Carousel tune: Waiting for You – 胡彦斌

Absolutely worn-out

That is what I’ve been feeling these few days, especially after helping out at my friend HQ’s 大喜之日 last Sunday. However, I’m truly very happy for her, coz she really looked v.v.幸福 during her wedding day (and v. stunning as well!). I woke up at 6am that day and reached her place around 7.45am only to be informed that the bridegroom and his ‘brothers’ will only be arriving around 9am plus (coz according to the Grandmaster, the car door can opened only at 9am sharp). We, the 姐妹们 would then only have around 20 minutes to 整 the bridegroom and company coz, according to the Grandmaster (AGAIN!), the bridegroom must enter the house no later that 9.20am. That was a bit of disappointing news for us, coz we had prepared so many interesting ways to tekan the arrival party. Fortunately, the groom and his gang were all pretty sporting people, and they took on all tasks with only a teeny weeny bit of reluctance (but with lots of gusto!).

But what really impressed us was the groom’s creativity and 细心 that he showed. When we finally opened the door for him to enter, he actually stopped short of coming into the house and instead asked us to inform the bride (who was sitting pretty in the room) to look out of her window. Then we saw they had put cardboards on their cars below, with the words ‘I LUV YOU’ on them, and plus we saw this big bunch of red balloons slowly being released towards the bride’s room window. Now this is what I would call a very NICE SURPRISE! I’ve been 姐妹 a few times, but this the first I’ve seen such a gesture from the groom. Makes me feel slightly guilty for tekan-ing him so long earlier on….=P The rest of the day went on quite smoothly, and we were finally given time to rest when we reached the hotel at 2pm. The next enormous task that I had to take on was the Mandarin emcee role during the wedding dinner. Though it was not my first time being an emcee, it was certainly my first time speaking in Mandarin in front of so many people! Started getting the butterflies in my stomach around the start of the dinner, and with the low temperature in the banquet hall not helping much, I almost could feel myself shivering from all the tension. Some of my hanyu pinyin started going haywire, but on the whole, the feedback I received was a thumbs-up! =D This wedding was one of the few where I took on more roles (姐妹, reception, emcee) in, but it also gave me some very good (and funny) experiences and I had a great time working with the rest of the 姐妹 gang (a.k.a. my hostel kakis lah). It was quite a memorable day for me, and though really dead beat after the day, I was a v.happy tired person when I went to bed that night.

Oh yes, btw, need to 声明 something. One of my friends had this misconception that the my blog would broadcast the music that I specified as my carousel tune. I'm so sorry, but my IT skills is not that zai yet. The songs that I put as my carousel tunes are just some of the music I heard recently on radio and which I think is worth recommending to all my blog readers. Paiseh paiseh...hope not many were misled the same way as my friend.
