Over liao...finally....
Over liao...finally....
So glad the presentation is finally over!! Funny thing was, I ended up having more of a casual chat with my sole audience, instead of going through the originally planned formal presentation. It was supposed to be attended by another 2 Heads of our divisions. But one was on half-day leave, while the other couldn't get away from a meeting with the big shots. So there was only me and my guest. I had thought she would be someone middle-aged and stern....but turned out....she was about my age, and quite friendly and chatty. We started talking about our past experiences in our jobs, our dream careers, the merits of the HPs we are using...etc etc. I think if we had met earlier in school, we could have become good friends even....
So sad yesterday, when I heard there was yet another accident at one of the train tunnels. Supposedly, an old man fell/jumped in front of an incoming train, and was killed. This is already the 3rd such incident which happened in that particular train station....and you really wonder, when is all this ever going to stop?? Our train system started out like, in the 1980s, and there's never been any such incident, until a few years back. And then, suicidal people starts to think this is like, an ideal way to die. Well, that's not to say all who died this way were suicidal....i think one or two were really accidents. But what I see from all this, is that people tends to like to copy something, once the first act is done...machem like following a trend. And I also just heard from the radio, that there is such a trend ever recorded and researched on! So it goes to show...even with all the precautions taken, with the safety barriers erected...if people are adamant on committing suicide at the stations....nothing can really be done. I just pray and hope this so-called trend can stop very very soon...if not, i think even I will be paranoid while taking the train.....which I already do sometimes!
