Performance blues

Performance blues

Just realised its really not easy being the piano accompaniment for a choir performance! You can practise very well at home, but once you play your pieces with the choir singing to your playing, it can really drive you NUTS!! I nearly freaked out the first time, and it was quite messy! I would have failed outright if this was in front of my piano examiner! And when you also realised that the choir is actually DEPENDING on your playing to get their song right, its really an added pressure! I wonder how those wonderful people whom I see playing for the choir performances can always look so serene and calm, like they were truly enjoying it! This I must work on...but meantime, its back to practise, practise and more practise at home....I just feel so apologetic to my neighbours...hope they would grow to like Bizet's Couplets after this.
