New self
Brand New Self
Ok, have decided to stop brooding over my condition and do something positive about it. After thinking it over, I realised all I gotta do now is to watch my diet more religiously and eat more carefully. How difficult is that? If I can wake up early each Sun morning to subject myself to painful aerobics, what's a little diet-watching and curbing? Anyway, I started well yesterday, eating much lesser meats and more veggies. Coincidentally, my mum cooked sardines for dinner yesterday, which, according to the eating manual prescribed to be me, is GOOD! Then I took tofu for lunch, which was typically quite tastelessly cooked, but, also GOOD for my diet. So there! One day of healthy meals, and I'm still surviving here. Hmm...I will be successful in this fight against High Cholesterol!!
But issit a coincidence or what? I caught a news report yesterday which informed us of the cholesterol problems Singaporeans are facing, and that 1 in 4 suffer from overly high levels! Wow! Guess I'm really not the only one having this problem. But yesterday was really quite depressing. When I went home to tell my mum about it, it felt like I was bringing home an extremely lousy school report card. But my mum was good enough to agree to make changes to our future meals accordingly. So, guess I will not be looking forward to my fav 'sweet and sour pork' so much now......
